Purple Butterfly is my customer-facing family photography practice. As a photographer and visual storyteller who has come to understand the value of documenting and preserving my family's love, values, and legacy, I seek to offer this intentional experience to families of diverse backgrounds and formations, including couples.

Family can be defined in many ways: a multi-generational family, a group of best friends, an interracial couple with a newborn baby, older children with their elderly parents—you name it.
Every year, Alyssa and her family welcome springtime by blessing their garden, a tradition from Hawaii called Pule ‘āina.
Before the session, we will work together to decide what you want to highlight in your images. I'll ask different questions about your family and share more about my approach, which is trauma-informed, sensitive, and curious.
Michelle and her family focused on introducing their new family member, Laila, as well as remembering their daily rituals in photos.
You can choose between an in-home session or an outdoor session at a place that is meaningful to you and your family. The goal is to document who you are, how you express your love, and what matters most to you as a family.

Since family can be defined in many ways, I'll offer pricing tailored to the scope of the photo session and the number of people you would like to include.

As a married woman, my husband and our cat Luna are my family. They are my home, my everyday, and my love. So, if you're a family of two, with critters or none, Purple Butterfly is for you, too!

I'd love to hear from you. Book a time to chat with me about your photo session, or e-mail me at charissasoriano@gmail.com 🐱
